Nuclear Envelope
The Nuclear Envelope surrounds the nucleus as a double membranea and it is made up of phospholipids. Inside of the envelope are thin strands of chromatin. It is the barrier between the nucleus and the cytoplasm. It has pores so that water, ions, ATP (adenosine triphosphate which is used for energy storage), and other small molecules can pass through it freely, but it regulates the transport of macromolecues like protein and RNA into the nucleus. Both animal and plant cells have a nucleur envelope.
